Exercise - Loish's Style!
I love the artwork of Loish: http://blog.loish.net/
She's got crazy amounts of talent. I wanted to try my hand at mimicking a couple pictures of her, and then apply what I learned to a piece of my own.
Here are the copied images (I apparently need to color correct my cintiq >.< that girl turned out so red!):
And then here's the image I came up with on my own:

Oh man, the thing that made me that saddest was failing miserably at getting those rich brush strokes she has in many of her images. I still thoroughly enjoyed this exercise. I'm hoping to do this with a few other artist styles in the future.
Again, please visit the various sites of Loish! I feel shady copying images without giving credit to the appropriate person all over the place :)

Hillary the "Drunk Monkey"
Occasionally I get requests from friends to draw a picture that illustrates an inside joke of theirs. Here's one of them!

Chris Sanders Nightmare - 3D Render Without Textures
WIP's were requested. I'm a little too lazy to burn through my process in reverse, so I just grabbed a render of the models without textures and called it good enough :)

Chris Sanders Nightmare made in 3D
This was a fun one, but took me longer than I like for any personal project of mine -_-. I learned a lot about ZBrush, though!
Original sketch was done by Chris Sanders: http://alohalilo.deviantart.com/art/Nightmare-contest-drawing-175522035?q=&qo=
I was working mostly of the colors and image that Dirk Erik Schulz ran with: http://themrock.deviantart.com/art/Chris-Sander-s-Nightmare-175904637
I'm really happy with it, but disappointed I lost sight of Chris' original character design in many areas, especially in the woman's face (blarrrrg). I can't wait to see how I might improve on my next project, though!
